It has
been quite a week!
The
nation was shocked to learn that our next President would be Donald Trump!
The
polls leading up to the election indicated that Hilary Clinton would win the
election!
But the
polls…the news media…were wrong!
And
from the moment this unexpected announcement reached the public…the world has
responded!
And
unfortunately, all responses have not been kind!
Over
the last few days, I am sure you have seen and read horrific comments!
Words
such as racist and sexist have been used repeatedly towards Donald Trump on
social media!
Thousands
took to the streets to protest the Trump victory!
Protestors
chanted anti-Donald Trump slogans!
It was
reported that approximately 5,000 people protested in New York. Standing outside the Trump Tower, several
issues of concern that were voiced included immigration and other controversial
topics from the campaign!
Many
protests took place in large Democratic based cities!
In
Chicago, it was reported that a few thousand people were carrying signs and
using a vulgar chant, which was directed at Donald Trump!
On the
campus of American University in Washington, students burned a flag.
Many
high school and college students across the country walked out of classes the
day after the Presidential election!
And if
I am completely honest, I have been saddened by the comments that have been
made on Facebook!
Mud-slinging…
Vulgar
language…
Name-calling…
A
country divided is what I have seen!
And
please hear me…I am probably the least informed person concerning politics you
will ever meet!
But I
love my country!
I love
my brothers and sisters in Christ!
I
desire for our nation to be great again!
I have
three adult children (actually six…because I count their dear spouses as my
children)!
I have
seven beautiful grandsons!
I want
this world to be a better place for them!
I don’t
want them to just survive in this world…I want them to thrive!
But
more importantly, I desire them to always have the freedom to worship God…to
live their lives in such a way that is pleasing to the Lord!
So, I
guess what I am saying is…my hope is not in man (or woman should Hilary have
been elected)!
My hope
is my Heavenly Father!
I am
praying for Donald Trump…praying that he will surround himself with Godly
influences…that he will seek God’s wisdom…guidance…leadership in the days
ahead!
I am
praying for God’s anointing to be upon him!
And I
will continue to pray for him during his reign in office!
But the
one that I am turning too…the one that I am trusting to do great and mighty
things is God.
Scripture states…God reigns over the nations;
God is seated on his holy throne…Psalm 47:8.
In the
chaos in the world around us, I can found comfort in those words!
God reigns!
He is seated on HIS holy throne!
And
this week, as I read through my Facebook newsfeed, these true words brought me great
comfort!
I have
read the last page of the bible!
I know
where I will be spending eternity!
But I
want every single person in this country to know that truth!
I want
them to know that they can place their hope in a Heavenly Father that loves
them more than they can imagine!
I want
them to sense His presence…feel His peace!
So, I
stay on my knees…praying and interceding for this country and those who are
placed in positions of leadership!
They
need our prayers!
Won’t
you join me!
As we
have witnessed this last week…there is power in prayer!
Dear Heavenly Father…I am hopefully…optimistic
for our future! You are in control…you
reign…and I believe you are looking down, saying…”I got this…trust me”! Oh, how I pray that we as nation would do
just that! Help us to be a people of
prayer! Help us to turn to you! Oh, how we need you, Father!
