He is Risen...He is Risen Indeed

As they entered the tomb, they saw a young man dressed in a white robe sitting on the right side, and they were alarmed.  Don't be alarmed," he said. "You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here.  Mark 16:5-6

Each spring I look forward to the warmer temperatures, trees budding, flowers blooming and the warmth of the sun on my skin!  I also look forward to celebrating Easter with my family and friends!

My husband and I have been blessed with four grandsons (and I'm happy to share that our fifth grandson is on his way), so sharing Easter with our children and these precious little ones is such a joyous occasion!

This year, our two oldest grandsons who were three and almost three truly enjoyed their Easter Egg Hunt!  And Beau, who was almost 18 months old, did a wonderful job of keeping up with his older brother, Hudson, as he searched for eggs and placed them in his basket!

I loved how their faces lit up as they opened up each egg to see what goodies were inside!  I'm pretty sure Graham opened every egg before he would proceed looking for the next egg!  And of course, they couldn't help but to immediately place a piece of yummy chocolate in their mouths before looking for the next colored egg!

As I watched them anticipating what treasure was stored in each bright egg, I thought of the anticipation of those visiting Jesus’ tomb must have felt that morning over 2000 years ago.  I'm sure that none of them expected to find the tomb empty early that morning!

However, that empty tomb reflected what scripture told us would happen.  Jesus died for our sins and three days later, he rose from the dead!  He's alive!  He died for you...for me...for each of us!  Don't be alarmed," he said. "You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here.  Mark 16:5-6

I love hearing those words each Easter..."He is risen.  He is risen indeed!!"  And I love that my children are now teaching their children that Easter is not just about brightly colored eggs, Easter Egg Hunts and looking for what treasures are stored in each egg, but they are sharing the real meaning of Easter with their young children!  They are sharing that Jesus died on the cross for our sins, and three days later rose from the grave.  HE is alive!  Thank you God for the gift of eternal life!

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for sending your son to die on the cross for our sins.  Thank you for the free gift of eternal life and that if we confess that we are sinners and ask Jesus Christ into our hearts as our Lord and Savior, we will be saved!  Help each of us to share this amazing truth with others so that they too may spend eternity with you.
