Does Jesus Live in my Tummy?

If you declare with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved…Romans 10:9.

I love the random things my grandchildren say!!  At times, I literally have tears running down my cheeks from laughing so hard at the cute things they say!

My daughter’s middle son is quite expressive!  He has large beautiful, blue eyes with long lashes and he definitely knows how to use him to his advantage!

Beau's 2nd Birthday Party!

A few weeks ago, I was watching the boys while my daughter had a garage sale, so I spent the entire day with them!

At one point, I was tickling Beau and asking him…”What’s in your tummy”…. in which he quickly shared…”Jesus is in my tummy”…and proceeded to giggle!

I said, “Don’t you mean Jesus is in your heart?  And Beau quickly said….”Jesus is in my tummy too”!!

This little guy is only two years old, and he might not fully understand where Jesus lives when we accept him as his Lord and Savior, but he is definitely listening and trying to grasp the bible stories his mama and daddy are sharing and the Sunday lessons he is hearing each week!

I love that my three adult children and their spouses have made their faith their own!  It’s a blessing to see them following after Jesus with all their hearts and teaching their children the ways of the Lord at a tender young age.

When my children were young, I listened to Dr. James Dobson faithfully each morning.  I read many of his books on marriage and parenting, hoping and praying that I would be the Godly wife and mother that God desired me to be.

I know there were days that I failed, but I would remember Dr. Dobson’s encouraging words, which would inspire and reassure me that I was not alone…God was with me each day!

One of Dr. Dobson’s stories that touched me deeply revolved around Pete Maravich.

Dobson related one of the heaviest days of his life - the day legendary LSU basketball player Pete Maravich died.

Dobson had invited the then retired Maravich to play basketball with him and some friends the day ahead of Maravich's scheduled interview with 'Focus'.  After the game was over, the two men sat and talked about what God had done in their lives.

As they were about to part ways. Dobson asked Maravich one question.

“How do you feel right now, Pete?”

“I feel great,” Maravich responded.

At that moment, Pete Maravich collapsed and died from a heart attack.

"To this day, I've never gotten over it," Dobson said.

When he went home, Dobson sat down his own son and spoke to him about what happened. He went on to tell his son that because any conversation could be their last, and the thing he cared about most was spending eternity with him in Heaven.

Dobson emphasized how important it is for all Christians to want that, and to want that for everyone they come into contact with.

Dobson said he wanted to see his son, and all of the audience in Heaven one day.

“Just remember those two words – be there," he said. "That is the number one thing you can do with your life because nothing else comes close to it.

“That is the only trophy that life will not trash."  (Dr. James Dobson, Focus on the Family)

I will never forget this message!  And I have shared this story with my children…the best gift you can ever give your father and me is to “Be there”!  We want to spend eternity in heaven with you.

God’s word states… If you declare with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved…Romans 10:9…Romans 10:9.

Asking Jesus Christ into my heart as a young adult, making him Lord and Savior of my life, was not only the most important decision I ever made…it was the best decision!

And when each of my children were born, I prayed that they too would ask Jesus Christ into their hearts and it was blessing to pray with each of them to do just that!

God’s word also states…For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved…Romans 10:10.

Our precious little two-year old Beau might not quite fully grasp what it means to ask Jesus Christ into his heart, but knowing that his little ears are listening…that his heart is open and tender to the gospel of Jesus Christ definitely blesses this Gammy’s heart!

I look forward expectantly to the day when my children will call to share that their children…our grandchildren…have accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior!

And will this Gammy be rejoicing along with the saints in Heaven?  You better believe it!

Dear Heavenly Father…thank you for the little hears that hear the gospel of Jesus Christ at an early age!  May our children…grandchildren…all children come to know you as Lord and Savior, choosing to serve you all the days of their lives!

Our Sweet Beau Bear!
