Sleepover!!!

Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity…1 Timothy 4:12

Our four oldest grandsons had a sleepover at our house a few nights ago!

We have been talking about this sleepover for months, so naturally the boys were extremely excited when the date arrived!

Hudson and Beau come home with us after church and could hardly wait for Graham and Emmett to arrive!!

We ate lunch and played until they got there!

When Graham and Emmett arrived, the boys squealed and hugged each other as soon as they saw one another!!

Knowing these little boys would be full of lots of energy; several activities were planned for the fun evening!

Craft time…

Playtime…

Wrestle time…

Dinner at Steak-n-Shake…

A game of Pie Face…

Baths…

Movie night…

Which included popcorn, sour patch candy and M&M’s…

Of course, no one was really ready for bedtime, but all four boys piled into Papa and Gammy’s king-size bed!

Hoping they would settle down with a story, Gammy read them The Crippled Lamb by Max Lucado.

Several questions and statements were made throughout the story, including…

“It isn’t nice to make fun of people!”
“We shouldn’t laugh at others!”

“It isn’t nice to leave people out!”

“What happened to the little lamb’s leg?”

“How do you think it got hurt, Gammy?”

Though there were many questions and comments, the boys learned that even though the little lamb was different and couldn’t keep up with the other sheep, God could still use this little lamb for his glory!

The boys learned that even though the lamb was young, God had a wonderful plan for this young lamb!

God’s word tells us… Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity…1 Timothy 4:12

After reading the story, we prayed and asked God to help us to be more and more like him.

These little boys are all 4 years and younger, but they are learning about Jesus every day!

They hear bible stories at church!

Their parents read the bible to them…they help them to memorize scriptures and to hide God’s word in their hearts.

And their parents desire to model Godly behavior in front of their children every day.

As I think about the precious grandsons that God has blessed us with, I desire to be a Godly example to them as well!

I want my thoughts to be God’s thoughts.

I want my speech to bring glory and honor to his name.

And I pray that my actions would be pleasing to my Heavenly Father.

And I pray, as my young grandsons grown and mature, they will see God’s light shining out through me!

And though I may no longer be considered as young, I desire to set an example for these young believers with my speech and conduct, encouraging them to be an example as well!

I pray that they will grow in love, faith and purity…rising up to be mighty men of God!

Dear Heavenly Father…thank you for the precious grandsons that you have blessed me with!  I pray that each one of them will ask You into their hearts as their Lord and Savior, living their lives completely surrendered to you!
