My
family and friends have been very sweet and helpful to me as I wait for my foot
to mend!
My
children have…
Fixed
lunch while visiting…
Cleaned
up after lunch…
Helped
with picking up after a day at the pool…
Helped
with my laundry…
My
mom has also helped with my laundry…
A
dear friend drove me home from Graham and Emmett’s Birthday party, allowing my
foot to rest after the party…
My
daughter-in-law, Rachel, has picked up crutches for me…given me little ice bags…checked
on my foot regularly…called in an antibiotic, making sure the foot did not get
infected….and even cleaned the nasty cut…and so much more!
My
grandchildren have been great caregivers too!
They
have looked at my foot and asked repeatedly…
“How’s
your foot doing, Gammy”?
“Is
it getting better”?
Their
caring hearts melt my heart!
After
looking at it during one visit…our sweet Graham immediately went to get his
mom!
Why?
Even
at his tender age, Graham knows that he can turn to his mama when he has on “ouch”
because she knows what to do!
And
I couldn’t agree with him more!
I
have chatted with her often about my foot!
I
have asked numerous questions!
I
have sent her pictures of the swollen ankle…wondering and asking why it was
swelling around the ankle.
When
asked how much cut is doing…I have sent her pictures.
I
figure the picture was worth a 1000 words, and she could tell better by the
picture than me trying to describe how the wounded area looked!
She
has been such a blessing throughout this ordeal!
And
though I trust her judgment, she isn’t the only one that I have turned to!
I
have also turned to the Great Physician!
The
One that knows me better than anyone!
The
one that feels my pain…and hears my cries when my foot is feeling tender and
swollen, and I am frustrated that I can’t do more!
And
though I am so very thankful for my family’s help…I am also very thankful for a
Heavenly Father that promises to bring healing to us!
Scripture
is filled with that promise!
Psalm
30:2 states…”Lord my God, I called to you
for help, and you healed me.”
Isaiah
53:5 states…”But he was pierced for our
transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought
us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.”
Matthew
4:23 states…”Jesus went throughout
Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the
kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people.”
“Jesus went through
all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good
news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness”…Matthew
9:35.
Matthew
14:14 states…”When Jesus landed and saw a
large crowd, he had compassion on them and healed their sick.”
God’s
word is filled with testimony after testimony of Jesus healing the sick, lame,
blind, deaf and so much more!
I
am so thankful that I can cry out to him when I am hurting and need his
physical…mental…or spiritual touch…trusting and believing that HE hears my
prayers!
Graham
knows this too!
And
though he may turn to his mommy when he is hurting…I have heard the precious
little boy praying to Jesus…asking him to make him feel better!
Graham
and I are so thankful that we can seek his mommy’s advice and care…we both also
know that we can also turn to our Heavenly Father…praying and asking him to
touch us when we are hurting!
Maybe
you have a hurt today too!
Whether
it is physical…mental…spiritual…I encourage you to cry out to the One who knows
you!
He
hears the cries of your heart…and will meet you right where you are!
Dear Heavenly
Father…thank you for blessing me with such a wonderful family to help me during
this time! And thank you for hearing my
prayers…prayers to touch my wounded foot…and prayers to help me be patient as I
wait for healing!
