Everything Pumpkin...

I love the fall season!

I love the cooler temperatures…the leaves changing colors…fields being harvested…and the smell of fall…namely pumpkin spice!

Last weekend, I was blessed to visit the Radar Farms Pumpkin Patch with some of my children and grandchildren!

Watching them dash across the fields from one activity to the next blessed my heart!

They climbed haystacks…

Rolled in large barrels…

Competed in duck races (along with a few of the adults)…

Shot hoops and threw a football…

Roped a few steer…

Slid down long slides…

Bounced…

Looked at farm animals…

Played in a silo…

And of course…enjoyed a pumpkin donut!

It was a wonderful afternoon…and by the time we were finishing dinner, we had five tired little boys and one tired little baby!

As I continue to enjoy the fall season and cooler temperatures this week, I realize everywhere you turn, there is pumpkin something!

Pumpkin spice lattes…I’m sure we have all heard of this one!

But have you heard of the following…

Pumpkin Pie Spice Pringles…

Spiced Pumpkin Fragrance mist…

Pumpkin Spice Mallows…

Pumpkin Spice Country Crock Spread…

Pumpkin Spice Instant Pudding and Pie Filling…

Jiff Whipped Peanut Butter and Pumpkin Pie Spice…

Pepperidge Farm Milano…Pumpkin Spice Flavored…

And as I was listening to WBGL on my way to work, I heard one of the morning co-hosts share that he had even tried pumpkin on his scrambled eggs!

Everywhere you turn…everywhere you look…you can see “pumpkin” something!

But…everywhere you turn…everywhere you look…you can also see God!

The beauty of a morning sunset…

A child’s smile…

Tiny hands and feet…

God’s artistic abilities as HE lights up the sky with an amazing sunset…

And being a mid-western girl…I see the beauty in this season of harvest too!

This past Sunday I visited another Pumpkin Patch/Apple Orchard with Zach and Rachel’s family!

And yes, we had to get more donuts…Apple donuts this time!

And Joel tasted his first Apple Slushie!

But as we walked through the Pumpkin Patch on this beautiful afternoon, I saw Pumpkin Blossoms! 

Sometimes we are so focused on picking out the perfect pumpkin…that we walk right by this delicate little bloom!

God’s handiwork was right in the middle of the field!

God’s word tell us…Lift up your eyes and look to the heavens: Who created all these? He who brings out the starry host one by one and calls forth each of them by name. Because of his great power and mighty strength, not one of them is missing…Isaiah 40:26.

So look around you today! 

Continue to look for something pumpkin during this fall season…and the different ways you can incorporate pumpkin into new dishes…but make sure you are looking for God in your everyday life too!

Trust me…He is there!

And I believe HE would love nothing more than for us to thank him…thank him for His creation and the beauty that surrounds us!

Dear Heavenly Father…thank you for your creation!  And in this season of fall…may we truly enjoy “everything pumpkin”…but may we also enjoy our time with you and the beauty of creation that is all around us!
