Fearfully and Wonderfully Made

The last several weeks have been extremely busy for our family!

In March, we celebrated five birthdays…

Tori, Zach, Bekah, Jeremiah (Jay), and Andrew!!

Tori and Wyatt

Zach and Bekah (Brother and sister)

Bekah and Caroline

Zach and Jay (Brothers) with Joel and Wyatt

We try to celebrate all together when we can, but busy schedules didn’t allow that to happen this year!

We also celebrated our risen Lord on Easter Sunday!

After church services, we had dinner at our house, which was followed by the children and adult Easter Egg Hunt!

You never know what type of weather you might be having in the Midwest on Easter, so with the chillier temperatures that day, we opted to hold the Easter Egg Hunt inside!

This was actually a very smart move…it began snowing that afternoon!

However, the fun didn’t stop there!

Our 9th grandchild…second granddaughter…was delivered the Monday after Easter!

I am happy to introduce you to Everly Grace!

She is such a doll!

And her older brothers absolutely adore her!

Actually, I believe the entire family (including extended family and friends) are quite smitten with her!

As I hold the precious bundle of joy in my arms, tears come to my eyes!

Tears of joy!

Tears of thanksgiving!

Tears of praise!

And I just stare at her in amazement!

When I look at her tiny feet and hands…her little mouth…her dark hair…all of her delicate little features…I just sit in awe of this precious miracle!

The God who created the heavens and earth created this precious baby girl!

He knew exactly what she would look like!

He knows every hair on her head!

He knows her by name!

His word tells us… For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb…Psalm 139:13

I can only imagine how God must feel as he creates each tiny individual…the details that he considers as he is knitting each precious baby together in his/her mother’s womb!

I’m sure he is smiling as looks down upon the child forming and growing inside his/her mother!

And I am reminded in God’s word… I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well” …139:14.

So when I look at Baby Everly…when I look at each grandchild that God has blessed us with…when I look at my children and their spouses…I just praise His holy, holy name!

Each of them are a gift from God!

Each of them are special…knitted by God’s own hands!

So, when you see the tears that sometimes slip down my cheeks…it’s because my heart cannot always contain all my joy…and it often overflows in the form of tears from my eyes!

And when I think of how much I love each of my children…grandchildren…I know that our Heavenly Father loves them more than I can even imagine!

Our God is so good to us!

So as I try to soak up as much time with Everly as I do with all of my other grandchildren, I thank God for each one of them!

I hold them close and pray over them…praying that they will choose to follow God all the days of their lives!

And most days…I just feel like lifting my hands to him…thanking Him for the many precious gifts HE has blessed us with!

Dear Heavenly Father…thank you for the gift of life!  Thank you for blessing us with Everly!  I look forward to seeing the wonderful plans you have for her being fulfilled in the days/weeks/months/years ahead!  I and look forward to making many, many precious memories with this sweet girl!
