Pink...or Blue??

People were also bringing babies to Jesus for him to place his hands on them. When the disciples saw this, they rebuked them. But Jesus called the children to him and said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these…Luke 18:15-16.

“Pink or Blue”…that was my question last week?

We are expecting our sixth grandchild!!

Jay and Tori are expecting their first child and had a doctor’s appointment this past Friday, which would be revealing if they were being blessed with a little girl…or a little boy!

Hopefully this little one won’t be shy at his or her doctor’s appointment, and will reveal if we will soon have another grandson, or possibly, our first granddaughter!

At this time, my husband and I have been blessed with five beautiful grandsons and we love each one of them to bits!

However, the thought of having a little princess join our group of princes is exciting!

The last four years I have purchased numerous little outfits in blues, reds, greens…trucks and cars…action heroes and countless other little boy items!  And please hear me…I have enjoyed every minute!

However, the thought of purchasing something pink and frilly would definitely send me on a shopping spree that may or may not give my husband nightmares!

And though the thought of purchasing “girlie” items for this dear one sounds like so much fun!!

However, even though I love the thought of purchasing pink, frilly items…my husband and I will be just as excited if we hear we are having another grandson and will rejoice with our son and daughter-in-law whether it’s a boy or girl!  We are just thrilled for this exciting time for them in their young lives!

As I ponder and think about our growing family and the precious gifts God has blessed us with…our children…their spouses…and now grandchildren…I think of what a blessing they are to our Heavenly Father!

Scripture says… People were also bringing babies to Jesus for him to place his hands on them. When the disciples saw this, they rebuked them. But Jesus called the children to him and said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these…Luke 18:15-16.

I love picturing little children running into Jesus’ arms!

I love picturing his tender face as he gazed upon these precious little ones!

And can’t you just picture a plump, curly-haired boy or girl sitting on his lap…looking up and gazing into the loving face of our Lord and Savior!

I know the disciples thought that Jesus may have been too busy for these little ones, but what a blessing it is to this mother’s heart…this grandmother’s heart…to know that Jesus wanted these little children to come to him!  He desired for them to come to Him!

Our precious Savior wanted to place his hand on the children and bless them!

I fondly remember dedicating each of our young babies to the Lord, asking our Heavenly Father to bless them!

I remember standing before our church family as our pastor invited the congregation to join us in prayer, agreeing to stand with us and to pray for us as we raised our children in the ways of the Lord.

I remember our pastor holding each one of our children as he prayed a blessing over them!

And today, I am blessed to know that my children are dedicating their little ones to the Lord as well!  Our children are asking God to bless their children (our grandchildren) and seeking His wisdom in parenting these little ones!

Just as Jesus desired the little children to come to Him when He walked this earth, HE desires for them to come to Him today!

Oh how I pray God pours out his blessing on my children and grandchildren…on your families…and on your children and grandchildren!!

I pray…even at this very moment…God is blessing you!!

And how I pray that if you have never come to know Jesus…if you have never made him Lord and Savior of your life…that you will do so today!

Oh how HE loves you!

Dear Heavenly Father…thank you for encouraging the little children to come to you!  Thank you for desiring to lay hands on these precious ones and blessing them!  Lord, may each of us draw close to you!  Thank you for blessing us with such a precious and growing family!  How I praise your Holy, Holy name!

PS  God is blessing us with another precious grandson!  Our hearts are already overflowing with love for this little one!!
