He is Here!!

For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb...Psalm 139:13.

Last night, Don and I met our youngest son, Jay, and his wife, Tori, along with some of their closest friends for prayer!

This small group gathered around Jay and Tori to pray for them, as they would soon be delivering their first child.  It was such a sweet time!

As Jay and Tori headed to the hospital after our prayer time, Tori text each of us, stating that she felt such a peace!  Isn’t God good!!

I know each of us thought of them throughout the night, lifting them up in prayer as they came to our minds!

Early this morning, Jay sent a text, stating that Tori had started Pitocin and was having slight contractions!

Lifting them in prayer, I headed to Bloomington to watch Graham and Emmett…hoping I would be back in town before Baby Wyatt arrived!

Jay sent us texts throughout the day, giving us updates!

Around noon, we heard that Tori had dilated to 5!  And by mid-afternoon, Jay sent a text, stating that she had dilated to 8!

Soon after Graham and Emmett woke from their naps, I received a message stating that Tori was at 9 and ¾!  Our little Wyatt would be here soon!

Though I normally would stay and visit with Rachel when she gets home from work, this particular time I left shortly after she arrived home…giving her and the boys a quick hug before heading back home!

I was so excited for my youngest son and his wife!  I was looking forward to meeting this precious new baby!

I met my husband and the hospital and patiently waited to meet our newest grandson to arrive!

It wasn’t too long before our son soon walked into the room, asking if we would like to meet Wyatt!

With and hugs and tears, we enthusiastically followed Jay to their room!

With little Wyatt nestled in her arms, Tori looked absolutely stunning!  She was glowing and motherhood looked beautiful on her!

Our dear friend, Kelly, who had assisted with the delivery, was beaming as well!

And Teran…who had photographed the delivery was smiling as she joined us in this time of celebration.  It was such a joyous occasion!

It only took a few moments for little Wyatt to land in Gammy’s arms!  I fell in love with him immediately!

Papa got to hold Wyatt briefly, but he was soon back in Gammy’s arms!  Yes…I love holding precious babies!!

Tears streamed down our cheeks as we gazed upon this precious little one!

Such a miracle!

He was perfect!

As I looked at his sweet face, I thought of the many prayers that had been lifted up for this sweet baby the last several months!

I thought of God’s word, which states… For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb...Psalm 139:13.

Though everyone in the room had completely fallen in love with this precious child, God loved him before we even knew of his existence!

He created Him, and as God’s word says, He knitted Wyatt together in his mother’s womb.

God knew every hair that was on Wyatt’s small head.  He knew the color of his eyes!  He created those tiny little fingers and toes!  He formed that button nose and those sweet lips!

And I thought…what an amazing God we serve!

He loves us so much!

I can only imagine what God is thinking as he creates each child!  Does he plan that this child will have curly hair and this one will have straight?

Does he think about the color of eyes each child will have?

Does his heart burst with love as this little one grows in his or her mother’s womb?  And does His love continue to grow for the child He created as the baby continues to grow?

I am sure it does!

And once the child is born, how God must look down with such great love as the child begins to grow and blossom outside of the womb!

Does God smile when the child first smiles?  Does He laugh the first time the child laughs?

Does He desire to hold the child in his arms…protecting him from harm?

Does He cry when the child cries?

Does He desire to hold them in his arms…just as a mother longs to hold her children close to her?

I believe so!

He loves us!  We are all his children!

And as I continued to look at Baby Wyatt’s sweet face…I praised and thanked God for this precious gift!

And my love for this baby grew…just as I knew God’s love was growing for him too!

Dear Heavenly Father…thank you for the gift of life!  Thank you for the miracle that we get to hold in our arms!  I praise your holy, holy name!
