Where is Your Mission Field?

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit…Matthew 28:19.

Lots of new faces on campus…

Mountains of paperwork…

Getting employee ID’s and Parking tags…

This is the life at Millikin right now for me and many of my co-workers!

The campus comes alive with activity after a slightly slower pace during the summer (which we are extremely thankful for)!

It’s exciting and there is a buzz in the air as activities increase over the next few weeks with students returning to campus and classes beginning!

I love this time of year!
Is it extremely busy…yes!  But it is fun meeting new faculty and seeing students back on campus!

To help our new employees feel welcome, our office hosts New Employee Orientations…providing our new employees with valuable information to assist them in their transition.

We wrap up each orientation with our Head Women’s Basketball Coach.   Coach Kerans focuses on sharing how our employees can make a difference on campus!

It’s the perfect end to our orientation!

Coach Kerans is a great story teller!

She is encouraging…inspiring…and truly bleeds blue!

She really emphasizes that each one of us are here to assist our students!  She hits home that what we say…what we do…how we act can truly make a difference in the lives of our students.

And though I have heard her presentation numerous times…I walk away each time with a fresh desire to make a difference on campus…to touch and impact each individual that I meet on campus!

But when I think about this…isn’t that how I should live my life each day anyway?

God’s word says… Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit…Matthew 28:19.

Not only do I desire to be a positive influence in lives of my Millikin family and each guest that comes to campus, I desire to be a light in this dark world!

I desire to live my life in such a way that when others see me, they see a reflection of Jesus Christ!

I want to be bold and share the gospel of Jesus Christ so that others might come to know Him as their Lord and Savior!

Not only is Millikin my place of employment, but it is my mission field!  It’s a place where I can touch the lives of others by being a Godly example!

It doesn’t mean I have to carry my bible to work with me each day…or that I have to quote scriptures continuously throughout the day, but I can live my life in such a way that others desire what I have…the peace of Christ…His saving grace…the knowledge of Christ’s unconditional love for me…for each of us …and the assurance of where I will spend eternity.

Does it mean that I succeed in this endeavor each day…No!  I’m a work in progress, but hopefully, each day I will take a step closer to Jesus…enabling me to touch the lives of others.

I truly believe that God can use me for such a time as this!  He can use you for such a time as this!

My question for you is…Where is your mission field?

Is it your place of employment?  Is it your child’s school?  Is it the group of individuals that you teach…coach…mentor…advise…babysit for…or meet at Walmart?

Your mission field doesn’t have to be in a different country!  It can be your neighborhood…reaching out to the neighbor who lives across the street!

It could be the group of moms and dads that you share carpools with!

It could be a mommy’s group!

The list is endless!

Wherever your mission field might be…I pray that you would allow God to use you for His glory!

Dear Heavenly Father…thank you for the opportunity to impact and touch the lives of others!  We may not always feel worthy of this task, but with you…all things are possible!  Knowing that there is a huge mission field before us…use us to touch the lives of others!
