Our mouths were filled with laughter,
our tongues with songs of joy. Then it was said among the nations, “The Lord has done great things for them.”…Psalm 126.2
Labor Day Weekend…End of summer…
Sunday morning church…
Praise and worship…
Family…
Hello hugs… (Or more like…let’s wrestle)…
Summer cookout…
Hamburgers, brats and hotdogs…and all the fix ins…
Corn-on-the-cob…
Baked Beans…
Chips and Dip…
Fresh vegetables and fruit…
Super Soaker water guns…
Running through the yard…
Squeals of Delight…
Laughter and Giggles ringing out…
Snuggling babies…
Children playing…
Tired little boys…
A perfect way to end the summer…great food…surrounded by family…having
fun…
God’s word says… Our mouths were
filled with laughter, our tongues with songs of joy. Then it was said
among the nations, “The Lord has done great
things for them.”…Psalm 126.2
As a mama and a grandma (Aka…Gammy)…nothing brings me greater joy than
to be surrounded by my family!
Seeing little ones playing and laughing…adults talking and smiling…my
heart is overflowing with love for this family!
I smile as I think about the little ones chasing dad/Uncle Zach through
the yard, squirting him with their water guns…and moments later…they are
running from him as he chases and squirts them with his own gun!
And I smile…as I see a family coming together to spend time together…and
enjoy the last few days of summer!
As I smile at this picture…I have to believe God was smiling down upon
us as well! He loves us so much…and
desires for us to be filled with joy!!
It truly was the perfect way to end summer!
However, we all know that not every day is picture-perfect!
And if we are completely honest…some days are extremely difficult and
you may not have anything to laugh at…or your tongues and hearts may not be
filled with joy on this particular day!
Trust me…I have had those days too!
But just as God loves to see our mouths filled with laughter…our tongues
with songs of joy…he cares about our hurts…heartaches…concerns…and the tears
that fill our eyes!
And though it may not be as easy to praise him during the difficult days
as it is on the near-perfect days…I am choosing to praise God every day! Just as Psalm 126:2 says…The Lord has done great things for them…for us!
Dear Heavenly Father…thank you
for days where laughter comes easy…and our tongues are filled joy! And Lord…on the days when laughter does not
come easy…help us to choose to praise you…for we know of the many great things
you have done for us!
