Give Thanks

Always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ…Ephesians 5:20.

Last Saturday, family joined together to celebrate one of our grandson’s…better known as Beau Bear… 3rd birthday!

This year Beau’s birthday party theme was minions!  He loves them…and is quite the minion himself!

This little darling is quite the character and reminds me of my daughter when she was a little girl!

He is carefree…and never in a hurry!

His eyes are full of mischief and his smile is contagious!

Though he can be a little shy at times…often hiding behind his mama and papa…once he gets to know you and feels comfortable…he loves to do whatever it takes to make you laugh!

This often includes making silly faces…

Dancing…

And often saying the cutest things, leaving you wondering where he came up with such expressions!

But most of all...he blesses all of our hearts!!

I tell him all the time…”I love you to…”…and Beau will quickly respond with the rest of the phrase…”to the moon and back”!

And I do!!

His 3rd birthday party was a hit!  After filling our tummies with cheesy garlic bread, pretzel sticks and cheese dip, pizza, soda and minion cupcakes, it was time for Beau to open his presents!

Beau was quite excited to begin this process!

Opening each present with great care, he could hardly wait to see what each package contained!

Surrounded by loving parents, grandparents, great-grandparents and aunts and uncles, Beau was blessed with many wonderful gifts, including various toys…games…clothes…(which also included a minion stocking cap)…and a new Spiderman bike and helmet…just his size!

However, I was so blessed to see his mama taking time to turn this moment into a teaching opportunity!

Beau didn’t just open one gift right after the other!

Instead, after opening each gift, he proceeded to go over to the giver…thank them…and give them a big hug…before moving on to opening the next present.

I know each family member treasured the moment…not only receiving a sweet hug from our little Beau, but having the opportunity to hug him right back!

As you probably can tell…this precious grandson has a very special place in this Gammy’s heart…right along with all of my other grandsons!

And I love that my daughter and her husband are teaching and instilling in their children’s hearts to be thankful!

As we enter this season of thanksgiving, I am reminded of what God’s word says… Always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ…Ephesians 5:20.

This past week I have heard and/or seen various ways that individuals are sharing their thanks during this season of Thanksgiving!

Some are posting why or what they are thankful for each day on Facebook.

I have heard others sharing what they are doing this season on WBGL.

One lady shared that she was fasting from complaining…trying to get through each day without grumbling or complaining!

My sweet daughter-in-law taped a tree made from construction paper on their sliding glass door.  She also cut out leaves from construction paper.  As her little boys tell her what they are thankful for, she writes their expressions of thanks on the leaves, providing them an opportunity to tape the different colored leaves on their tree!

There are so many things we could do this month to remind us to be thankful!

Have you thought about what you and/or your family could do this month?

Maybe it is merely saying each day…I am going to be thankful and praise the Lord for all I have!

Maybe you are a complainer, so you too will choose to go through each day without grumbling or complaining.

Maybe you are a parent of young ones and you can use this season to teach your children what it means to be thankful!

Maybe you have a completely new and creative way to express your thanks this year!

Whatever you do, remember to thank God for all of you have!

We have so much to be thankful for, so let’s remember to not only be thankful in this season, but each and every day!

Dear Heavenly Father…thank you for family and friends…for sweet grandsons and birthday celebrations, but most of all…thank you for sending your son to die on the cross for all of our sins!  We truly have so much to be thankful for, so help each of us give thanks for all of the blessings in our lives!

So thankful for this precious family!!
