Praying in Victory

“Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you”…Jeremiah 29:12

I am so blessed to be a member of a church that believes in the power of prayer!

Towards the end of last year, our pastors asked members of our church to consider becoming part of prayer team…dedicating time to pray for our pastors…the sermon message…the praise and worship team…our congregation…trusting God to lead you as to how to pray during each church service!

I have been blessed to be a part of another small prayer team that has met monthly to pray for our teens for several years, and felt this was an area that God was calling me to serve.

Our church has designated a specific room for prayer…providing weekly prayer requests, bibles, hymnals…tools that will assist us during our time of prayer!

I have prayed alone during that time.

I have prayed with a few others.

And I have prayed with a small group of ladies that have been praying for our teens for many years!

Each time has been a sweet experience!

Jonathon, one of our pastors, thought it would be good to schedule a meeting where all the intercessors could come together and meet each other!

I felt encouraged as I left the meeting, knowing that others believe in the power of prayer and are also praying for our church…our pastors…our congregation…and whatever else God lays on their hearts during their prayer time!

I was also encouraged by a booklet that was given out during our meeting…Praying in
Victory!

The purpose of this booklet is to help us to pray the Word of God…scriptures from the Bible.

The introduction of the booklet stated that when we speak and pray God’s Word, we are coming into agreement with God and His power is released to answer our prayers.

The first page was filled with Prayer Promises, so I prayed these prayers during my time with the Lord the next morning after receiving the booklet, and was so encouraged, that I felt led to share those Prayer Promises with you today…

“Let my prayer be set before you as incense; the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice”…Psalm 141:2

I encourage you to read these scriptures slowly…and meditate upon them.

I encourage you to read and pray the scriptures out loud!

And I pray that as you read these scriptures…as you pray them out loud…they will resonate with you…bringing you encouragement as you pray!

I pray that you will sense God’s presence…His peace…His mighty power as you pray!

Dear Ones…there is power in prayer!  And when we join together…praying God’s will…He moves in mighty and powerful ways…ways that we cannot even imagine!

I pray that even now…you are joining me and others in prayer!

Dear Heavenly Father…thank you that we have the freedom to pray!  Encourage us to be prayer warriors…trusting and believing in the power of prayer!  Help us to boldly come before your throne with our prayers!  We praise you for all that you are doing…and will continue to do as we lift our prayers to you!
