Are you Thirsty?

Tea…

Soda…

Lemonade…

Something stronger…

What is your favorite drink!

I use to drink one Pepsi every day until I realized how much sugar each Pepsi contained!

And I do love a good glass of lemonade on a summer day!

And lemon shake-ups…it’s usually my first purchase at any fair!

But I have to say when dining out, I normally order water with lemon!

It’s so important to hydrate with water throughout the day!

I have learned that lesson well the last few weeks!

My daughter asked my husband and me to join her and Andrew in the Ultimate Reset Program!

So, what is the Ultimate Reset Program?

Basically, it is an inner-body turn-up that lasts for 21 days!

“It is a gentle, no-starvation cleanse, which helps restore your body to its optimal “factory settings”, so you can feel and look healthier than before”…www.teambeachbody.com!

You should feel energized, enjoy better digestion, possibly lose weight and reclaim your overall health!

So what does water have to do with this program?

During the 21 days, you are supposed to drink a gallon of water each day!

When I first heard this, I thought there is no way I can drink a gallon of water each day, so I began drinking extra water a few weeks prior to beginning this program!

And actually, it isn’t that hard to drink a gallon each day!

What are the benefits of drinking water?

WebMD lists these 7 Wonders of Water…

Water helps you to stay slimmer.  (I like this one!)

Water boosts your energy.

Water lowers your stress.

Build muscle tone with water.

Water nourishes your skin.

Stay regular with water.

Water reduces kidney stones.

So, there are several good reasons to drink plenty of water besides just quenching your thirst!

Jesus talked about water too…

Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”…John 4:13-14.

Not only do our physical bodies thirst, but our spirits thirst as well.

Though I am currently drinking a gallon of water each day…my physical body is going to thirst again!

My physical body is satisfied after drinking each glass of water…but only temporarily!

The “water” that Jesus Christ offers us…gives us permanent satisfaction in our spirits!

Our souls are not a cistern…for merely holding water, but more like a fountain…springing, gushing, bubbling up and flowing forth within us…ever fresh…ever living.

Do I desire to fill my physical body with numerous glasses of water each day…absolutely!

But I desire even more to fill my spirit with Christ’s living water…water that is ever fresh…every living…eternal!

Go ahead and enjoy your favorite drink!

But make sure you are also drinking the “water” that Christ offers…satisfying your thirst forever!

Dear Heavenly Father!  It’s good to quench our physical thirst with water, but Lord…I pray that each of us thirst for more and more of you…providing us an opportunity to thirst no more!
