I'm Never Going to Let You Go!

Smiles…

Giggles…

Laughter…

Shooting water…

Splashing…

Running…

Jumping…

Sliding…

Swinging…

And so much more…

Filled the park this past weekend!

Graham and Emmett celebrated their birthdays with family and friends at a Splash Park!

Little boys and girls dashed across the park…going from one activity to the next!

And if you weren’t careful…you could have easily become the target of spraying water!

The water was cold, but that didn’t keep the little ones from running through it!

And if they got too cold…they just headed to the playground where they could…slide, swing…twirl until they were too dizzy to stand up!

It was so much fun watching them play and laugh together!

And of course…everyone took a break to enjoy delicious cupcakes!

Children and adults gathered around as we sang Happy Birthday to these two cuties!

And we gathered around them again as they opened gifts from family and friends!

And of course…everyone had to play a little more and get that last splash in before they headed home!

It’s never easy to say good-bye to these three sweet boys!

And I think they just might feel the same way!

As we were buckling them in their car seats and saying good-bye…Emmett wrapped his arms around Papa’s neck and said…”I’m never going to let you go”…and just squeezed his neck ever so tightly!

Finally, it was my turn to receive one last hug from Emmett (this was after several hugs already)…and he did the same thing!

He wrapped his arms around my neck and said…”I’m never going to let you go, Gammy”!

I squeezed him back and told him that I loved him very much and would see him soon!

Seriously…who wouldn’t just want to stay and bask in so much love! 

Talk about melting this Gammy’s heart!

It’s hard to say good-bye after such a tender moment!

And there are times that I wish I could be with them always…protecting them from the evil of this world!

As I think about the love I have for each of my grandsons…my desire to protect them… …I can’t help but think of our Heavenly Father’s love!

God says…“Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”…Hebrews 13:5.

God promises to be with us…always!

We can take such comfort in those words!

And I am reminded that when I’m with them…when their mommy and daddy isn’t with them…God is!

The One who loves them far greater than I can even imagine!

This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him…1 John 4:9.

God loves us!

We may not grasp everything the bible says, but if we can grasp these simple truths…

God loves us!

God promises to never leave or forsake us!

We can rest in Him…trusting that HE desires the very best for us!

And when I do have to say good-bye…I know that HE is holding my children…grandchildren…loved ones in his Heavenly Arms!

What a Good, Good Father we serve!

Dear Heavenly Father…thank you for birthday celebrations!  Thank you for times for family and friends to gather together to celebrate life!  But most of all…thank you for Your Great Love for each of us!
