Waiting is Hard...

Waiting is hard!

Most of us struggle when we have to wait for something very long!

We live in a world that promotes instant…everything!

So, when God asks us to wait…

For His answer…

His timing…

We can feel a little anxious!

My husband and I are currently waiting…

First of all…we are waiting for our first granddaughter to arrive!

This precious little one could make her appearance any day now!

So, we are keeping our phones close by…hoping and expecting for that phone call or text to come…saying…”It’s time”!!

Fortunately, we can rest in God…because we know that HE has a beautiful plan for this sweet little baby girl…and that HE will determine the date/time for this little one to arrive!

We are also waiting to hear back on a couple of job opportunities for Don!

These job opportunities would allow him to quit traveling…to be home with his family…and it would meet our family’s financial needs!

A few days after submitting his application materials to a particular company in town, my husband received a call to interview with this company.

He was called to interview for not only one position…but he was also asked to interview for the second position at the same company!

After interviewing for the first position, he was called back for a second interview.

So, last week…he spent three days interviewing for these positions!

It’s an opportunity that we are excited about!

And if I am completely honest…feeling a little anxious about!

I would love God to bless Don with this opportunity!

I believe he has the skill sets and could do well and possibly retire from this company.

We have prayed…given it to the Lord…and trusting Him for His perfect will for our lives!

And though only a few days have passed…it seems like forever!

So, I am pressing in and praying…

Asking God to help me keep my eyes on Him…

Trusting and Believing…that HE has the best plan for Don and myself!

And while searching God’s word, I found these encouraging words…

Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord…Psalm 27:14.

When I am feeling weak…anxious…fearful…I can take heart and in HIS strength…be strong as I wait upon Him.

In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly…Psalm 5:3.

Each morning, I lift my heart before the Lord…I lay my requests at his feet…and look expectantly to how HE is going to move in this situation!

Lord, I wait for you; you will answer, Lord my God…Psalm 38:15

I know God hears our prayers…I trust and believe HE will answer…in His timing!

I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits, and in his word I put my hope…Psalm 130:5

I love this!

I truly feel my whole being is waiting!  I believe Don’s whole being is waiting too!

But as we wait…it is in HIS word that we put our hope!

We are resting in Him (well, most of the time…sometimes I have to lay it back down at His feet…God’s still working on me in this area)!!

Yet the Lord longs to be gracious to you; therefore, he will rise up to show you compassion.  For the Lord is a God of justice.  Blessed are all who wait for him…Isaiah 30:18

I love reading that my God…my Heavenly Father…longs to be gracious to us!  He desires to show us compassion!  And while we are waiting…HE will bless us! 

Thank you, God!  You are so good to us!

But as for me, I watch in hope for the Lord, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me…Micah 7:7.

I desire to be that person that watches in hope…praising Him while I wait.  For His word says…HE will hear me!

Thank you, Lord!  I just praise Your Holy, Holy Name!

But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently…Romans 8:25.

God’s word is encouraging me to wait for it patiently! 

So, as I read his Word!  As I allow His word to penetrate my heart…as I keep my eyes on Him…I can wait for the answer that soon will be coming!

My hope is not in this particular position…My hope is in my Heavenly Father!

He is our provider…He meets our every need!  He is faithful!

Maybe you are in a season of waiting too!

Maybe you are a little like me…and struggle with the waiting!

If so, I pray God’s word is a source of strength…a source of comfort to you…in this season of waiting!

And I pray that you can rest in Him…trusting and believing that HE desires the very best for you!

Dear Heavenly Father…waiting isn’t always easy!  And sometimes...it is downright hard!  But thank you for your Word…Words that encourage us in the season of waiting!  Help us to keep our eyes on You as we expectantly wait upon You!  Oh, how we love you!
