It’s been a fun weekend!
We celebrated Joel’s 2nd birthday!!
And his mama chose his favorite character for
the theme of his birthday party this year!
Joel usually takes Elmo, Cookie Monster and
several other Sesame Street characters to bed with him!
But I think Elmo is his favorite, so naturally
that was the theme of his birthday party!
So, we did it big...Elmo style!!
You probably are a little jealous of our Elmo
shirts…right?
And though not all of the family could attend
due to colds and coughs, I’m pretty Joel still felt the love of many!
Not only did we have a big day on Saturday, but
today was very special too!
We had the joy off attending church and
watching our oldest son, Zach; baptize his oldest son, Graham!
We listened as Zach introduced Graham and share
how he and his wife, Rachel, have chosen verses and dedicated them to each of
their children.
Graham’s verse comes from Acts 13:22, which states,
“After removing Saul, he made David their
king. God testified concerning him: ‘I
have found David son of Jesse, a man after my own heart; he will do everything
I want him to do”.
Zach and Rachel’s prayer…each of our prayers…is
that Graham will be a man after God’s own heart!
We pray that Graham will choose to follow God
all the days of his live.
Zach then asked Graham…”Do you believe Jesus Chris is the son of the Living God?”
Graham sweetly answered, “Yes.”
Zach then asked Graham…”Do you accept Him as your Lord and Savior?”
Again, Graham answered, “Yes.”
And then our son, upon Graham’s confession of
faith, baptized his son in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit!
A tender moment followed as Zach and Graham
hugged each other!
The sweet picture will be forever embedded in
the treasure chest of my heart!
I will play those words…that scene…over and
over in my mind…thanking and praising God for all that he is doing in Zach and
Rachel’s lives…and the lives of their children!
We joined Graham and his family…and Papi and
Lola (Graham’s other grandparents) and their son, John for lunch after church!
And while we were eating, Graham said, ”Thank you everyone for coming to support
me”!!
I know Graham was grasping that this was a
special day!!!
I pray Graham will always know how much he is
loved by all his family…extended family…and church family!
I pray he will always know that we are praying
for him…interceding for him…asking God to guide and lead him each and every
day!
And pray that Graham will always remember this
day…that day that he publicly chose to confess his faith and be baptized!
I’m not sure the weekends get any sweeter than
this!
It was definitely filled with treasures!
Dear Heavenly Father…thank you for Graham and his decision to ask
Jesus Christ into his heart as Lord and Savior!
Thank you for Graham’s decision to be baptized today! Lord…I pray that Graham will choose to follow
you all the days of his life!
