Several
years ago I went through a season where I did not know how to pray for a
particular situation!
I often
felt overwhelmed…
Helpless…
And at
times…hopeless!
My
heart literally hurt as I stood on the sidelines…watching…wondering how God was
going to move in this situation.
I had
prayed and prayed…and though I knew God heard my prayers…nothing was changing!
I
remember waking up one morning…
Falling
to my knees…
And the
only words that I could utter were…
Jesus!
Jesus!
Jesus!
So, I
just continued to say those words over and over!
I knew
God already knew my heart!
He knew
my prayers!
And
that one worded-prayer was enough that morning!
And
with my head bowed…sitting on my knees…I began to feel God’s presence!
His
peace!
His
comfort!
And I
knew that HE cared deeply about the situation that I had been praying for!
He
cared deeply about the individuals involved in that situation!
He
loved them more than I could ever imagine!
And I
knew that HE was in control…and would move…in HIS timing!
Not
mine!
So that
morning, I felt great comfort in knowing that when I don’t know how to pray…the
ONE who does…will take my concerns to my Heavenly Father!
And
today…when I look at what is taking place in our world…
The
division that is so apparent in our nation…
The
hurtful comments that are shared on social media…
The
stories shared in the news…
The
unrest that is felt by so many…
And so
many individuals not knowing…or not choosing… to invite God into each of these
situations…
I can
begin to feel overwhelmed again!
So, I
am reminded that when I do not know how to pray…Jesus will intercede on my
behalf!
And the
cries of my heart are lifted to my Father!
His word states…In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know
what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through
wordless groans. And he who searches our
hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s
people in accordance with the will of God…Romans 8:26-27.
Dear Ones…you might be feeling like me
today!
Wondering how to pray for our
country…for our leaders…for what is taking place in the world around us!
Rest in this…the Holy Spirit will
intercede on our behalf through our wordless prayers and groans!
HE is searching our hearts…and
understands the words we do not know how to express during this time…and HE
brings them before the Father!
And HE intercedes on our behalf in
accordance with God’s will!
Be encouraged!
Your prayers…both spoken and unspoken
make a difference!
And God will move!
He sits on the throne and HE reigns over
this earth!
HE is in control!
Praise God! To HIM be all the glory!
Dear Heavenly Father…Thank you for the Holy Spirit that
intercedes for us through our wordless prayers!
Thank you that the Spirit intercedes for God’s people according to your
will! Thank you that you listen and hear
each and every prayer! Oh how we praise
your Holy, Holy Name!
