To
be surrounded by Your glory
What
will my heart feel?
Will
I dance for You Jesus?
Or
in awe of You be still?
Will
I stand in Your presence
?
To
my knees will I fall?
Will
I sing, Hallelujah?
Will
I be able to speak at all?
I
can only imagine
I
can only imagine
Lyrics
from “I Can Only Imagine” – Mercy Me
I received the cutest pictures from my
daughter-in-love earlier this week!
They were at Disney World and Graham was getting to meet some of the
Disney characters at breakfast that morning!
He was grinning from ear-to-ear as he gave Goofy a
High Five! And he just stood in
awe as he looked up at Pluto! I
can only imagine his sweet expression, as he was able to greet some his other
favorite Disney characters!
I truly had tears of joy as I looked at those
adorable pictures and was so excited and happy for him to have this experience!
However, our little Emmett was a little overwhelmed
and Rachel said he was terrified of the characters! Emmett just turned one year old at the end of May, so I
imagine that even thought those Disney characters are adorable, they were a
little intimidating to him on this particular morning!
Graham and Emmett’s reaction to our favorite,
loveable, Disney characters was completely different! As I pictured their different reactions, I was reminded of
one of my favorite Mercy Me songs…I Can
Only Imagine.
Just as Graham and Emmett were getting to meet
Goofy, Pluto and other Disney characters that morning, someday I will get to
meet my Heavenly Father, and I wondered, how will I react when I finally get to
meet Him face to face!
When I finally stand in His presence…in His
glory…what will my heart feel?
Will I dance before Him, or will I be so in awe of Him that I can only
stand still in His presence.
Will I even be able to stand before Him, or will I
literally fall to my knees. Will I
sing praises to His name or will I be able to speak at all. I can only imagine.
That day is coming. God’s word says…Behold,
I am coming soon…Revelations 22:7.
Jesus will return one day, and until that day, I can only imagine
how I will respond. Just as I
experienced joy at seeing our little Graham’s face light up as he met Goofy and
Pluto, I can only imagine the joy that my heart will feel when I meet my Savior
face to face. May I continue to be
ready for that day…the day I meet my Heavenly Father.
Dear
Heavenly Father…thank you for your promise to return soon! Until that day, may I continue to live
a life that brings glory and honor to You. And until I finally get to meet you face to face…I can only
imagine how I will react when I see your glorious face.
